Tammy Peterson is a highly accomplished trial attorney specializing in commercial and complex litigation. Representing individuals as well as large public and private corporations, her practice spans business torts, partnership disputes, breach of contract cases, corporate governance disputes, eminent domain matters, legal malpractice defense, class actions, and intellectual property disputes.
With extensive courtroom experience, Tammy has conducted over 30 jury trials to verdict and numerous bench trials, successfully argued appeals before the Nevada Supreme Court, and is highly skilled in alternative dispute resolution and administrative proceedings.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor reserved for the top 1% of trial lawyers in the U.S., admitted by invitation only based on the recommendation of judges and peers. Tammy has been recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Benchmark Litigation, and the Litigation Counsel of America.
Career Highlights
Before co-founding Peterson Baker, PLLC, Tammy served as a shareholder with Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP and Jones Vargas, Chtd., Las Vegas. She began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office (1996), focusing on the Special Victims Unit, handling cases involving child abuse, child homicide, and sexual assault. She also served as a law clerk to Honorable Philip M. Pro, U.S. District Court, District of Nevada (1994–1996).
Community & Leadership
A native Nevadan, Tammy is deeply committed to serving her community. She is a past President of the Junior League of Las Vegas and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation, advocating for the welfare of children in the region.
